This was the message written about the club in the Worlds info pamphlet:

Racers (OCRCAR) club has been a leader in promoting the sport of R/C car racing throughout its history. The club is probably one of the most active in competition as well as participation assisting ROAR, the national organization. There are more national champions in OCRCAR than in any other U.S. club.

Sometimes we are accused of being a "racers" club. That may be true ... but we make time to support event which will benefit the R/C car sport, such as this event, the First World R/C Car Championship.

Other clubs in the Southern California area are equally enthusiastic about the World Championships. Our club would like to thank the PROCAR club of Pomona for providing track maintenance personnel; and the Los Angeles-LARCAR, San Diego-R/C MCC, and Ventura Road Runners clubs for their volunteer support personnel.

Our club founders initiated the sport of R/C car racing, formed ROAR Inc., and were its first officers. Club members are, and have been, ROAR regional directors and committee members who are willing to accept responsibility. Sometimes their decisions meet with happens when you accept responsibility. Many times these decisions are based upon the experience that these people have, and judgment must be reserved until you too have the experience and can look back at past events. These same people are very willing to assist beginning racers and clubs in any way they can ... just ask.

I, for one, happen to be proud of our club's history and participation in the development of the sport of R/C cars.
